This is a four day immersion (and adventure!) into an animistic perspective on Prayer.
So often I wonder if people, who no longer associate with the confinements of religion, but rather consider themselves spiritual people, know who they are praying too and if they still regard prayer as something of value. Prayer and religion often go hand-in-hand within the psyche and this can cause tremendous confliction in a persons heart. Prayer is not just a religious act, it’s an invocation of your breath and heart.
Personally, prayer is one of the most significant parts of my daily practice, a moment in time where I can commune deeply with the being in question, whether it is with my ancestors, great spirit or a river and I’ve often noticed people being conflicted, inhibited and some even outraged by the thought of prayer. There is so much to demystify about prayer and that’s why I am offering this four day adventurous immersion.
We’ll dive into cosmology around deities/gods/goddesses, Nature beings and ancestors. Demystifying certain associations around prayer. Learn how to connect with the spirit of things through prayer. Discus different types of prayer and practices. It won’t all be cerebral, we’ll weave it all together with embodiment work and practice.
We will gather, in person, every Sunday for four weeks starting on Sunday the 16th of July.
